Florida-Blogger: 7 Kids and Us
Living in Florida there is a lot of water, wither it be a pool, beach, river or lake most likely you will be upon it sooner or later. Having 5 kids and only 2 sets of eyes, often one its a pain to try and take my kids to places which have deeper water especially the types I cannot see the bottom, because well not all of my kids can swim.
Thanks to the SwimTrainer I am able to work on my younger girls while their brothers are in school. The schools now take the kids to learn how to swim as well, because sadly drowning is a major reason for child deaths. I also have to worry about my kids because we have a pool in our yard, which has a baby gate but that doesn't always mean they are safe. So to put my mind at ease more, I have been practicing swimming with my kids.
Now learning from experience the younger you teach your child to swim the better off you both are, even if you have no reason to teach them its something all kids should know. I have a 6,5 and 2 year old which I am trying to teach. My first two learned how to swim at about age 5 but that was up until then I never thought it was necessary to teach them.
The SwimTrainer is a flotation device which holds the child upright but is not completely around so that legs are free to move. The child leans forward spreading their legs behind them and kicking. The lock on the SwimTrainer is made so your child is safe and secure. I love the SwimTrainer I am almost a week straight with it and I am able to take my daughter out and have her try on her own without her flipping out on me. The SwimTrainer comes with a booklet on how to use it and teach your child how to get comfy with it so they slowly don't notice that hey they can do this by themselves.
SwimTrainers come in 3 sizes ages 3 months to 4 years, 2-6 years and 4-8 years. SwimTrainers are made by Fred's Swim Academy. You can purchase your size SwimTrainer by clicking here.
